AIDS PEI is advising clients living with HIV that H1N1 clinics have been setup around the province. HIV positive persons are members of an at-risk group and receive priority when receiving vaccinations. These vaccinations begin October 26th and are free of charge.
Dr. Heather Morrison, Chief Health Officer for the province of Prince Edward Island also indicates that the seasonal flu shot can be administered anytime after an individual receives the H1N1 flu shot. This has been the advice received by many clients at the infectious disease specialist in Moncton (Dr. Gordon Dow).
