Peer support
Believe it or not, there is a population on Prince Edward Island of people living with HIV/AIDS. Many have made themselves available to talk to you if you’ve been newly diagnosed and need to talk to someone living with the disease to hear their perspective.
If you would like to talk to someone living with HIV/AIDS but are not a client, we invite you to contact us at 566-2437 or contact Alana Leard, Outreach Coordinator at alana@aidspei.com. We’ll be happy to connect you with a person living with HIV/AIDS and work with you to determine what your needs are and how we can further assist you with finding a doctor and receiving treatment.
China ends HIV travel ban
On April 27, China announced that it had lifted a 20-year-old travel ban on foreign visitors with HIV, but the country's visa application still asks people to disclose their health status.
